OPENING OCTOBER 12th 2026KIBOU Japanese Kitchen & Bar is opening on Temple Row this autumn, bringing handmade sushi, sashimi and a full Japanese kitchen to the city centre. Every roll is cut to order in an open sushi kitchen you can watch from your seat, alongside steaming bowls of ramen, bao buns, crisp tempura, handmade spiced pork gyoza, and sushi and sashimi sharing platters, seasonal specials and A5 grade Japanese wagyu. The venue features hand-painted murals by artist Martyna Sabadasz, created specifically for this site and telling Birmingham's own story on the walls. There's a dining area centred on the open kitchen, plus a standalone bar pouring cocktails, sake and spirits.

    It was my first time eating at the shogun a party of five people including myself. Such great hospitality great service totally hilarious host would highly recommend to family and friends.     We have a lovely experience celebrating our daughters 21st at Wagamama's in Solihull ( her place of choice) the service was excellent and the food was gorgeous. We were a mixed bunch of ages but we all felt welcomed and they went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed ourselves
