Our inspiration is the Zeus Faber, one of many local fish that can be fished sustainably and from our shores; although it has a wonderful Latin come Greek name, it also has a very British name - John Dory. Faber is the Latin word for ‘Smith’ and as Smith is the most common name in English, we decided it sits well with our ethos - we want to be accessible to all.Setting us apart from the rest is our commitment to working with local fishmongers who run out to the coast each evening to collect day-boat fish and local ingredients.     Our very favourite restaurant in the UK. Romantic, lively without being excessively noisy, personable and friendly, interesting specials that make choosing quite difficult. Wonderful food made from the freshest ingredients, and the family that run (and own) it are kind, real people with genuine warmth for their customers. What's not to love??

    First visit here and somewhere I'd definitely return to. Food and service were outstanding and the pricing very reasonable too. It's not the most beautiful of locations but they've done the interiors very well. They deserve to do well!

    Pradeep was a brilliant front-of-house host. He also recommended certain dishes on the menu, which we ordered and were excellent. All the food was outstanding, and would highly recommend to everyone.
