It had been a few years since our last visit to Union League, and we had heard rumors of renovations and new management. The food was as good as it always was, if not better. L'esgargots were creatively capped with puff pastry, the onion soup was rich and hot. Lamb chops - rib - were fabulous. The sea bream was fried to black on one side, and it was crispy and delicious. The vegetables served with it were perfectly soft and rich in flavor. The restaurant fortunately still has its hazelnut-chocolate mousse on the dessert menu. It is a slice of perfection, a must-taste dessert. We ordered wines suitable for the food but did not spend time studying the wine list. It was a lovely evening for a special occasion ($$$).

It was our first time dining at The Essex. We will most definitely go back. The food was amazing. Flavor combinations that I would not have thought to put together worked well. The Beef Wellington was exceptional! It is a bit pricey, but worth every dollar. The restaurant is small, with lots of attention to details. Service was spot on. We highly recommend The Essex!

I always have a good experience at TK. This time was no exception. Service was excellent, the food, too. The pork shank with esquites and greens was ample and delicious. The wines by the glass were good. A little noisy but just larger groups of people having a good time. We didn’t have to raise our voices to hear each other at a table for two.

Porter’s never disappoints! Great food every time. Lively bar atmosphere. It’s become our go to place for a great meal out!
