Browns, Windsor occupies one of the loveliest spots imaginable. With views across the Thames from the front and towards mighty Windsor Castle from the back, this elegant and spacious building has a beautiful mezzanine and a delightful outdoor balcony. With its stunning views, the mezzanine is the perfect place for a private party. It seats up to 80 people so it’s ideal for any kind of celebration or a stylish corporate event. We’re ten minutes away from Windsor racecourse, so come and pop a cork or two with us.

The service from start to finish was slow and poor. We had to ask for drinks, the food was dry, the pasta was stodgy, the steak didn’t even look like steak and the egg on schnitzel was dry and hard. We asked the waiter to wipe the table after the main course and he sprayed it with detergent that went onto us (he was oblivious). The desserts were mediocre. Bearing in mind we arrived at 18:30 and the restaurant was not busy it was astonishing the food was bad and the service almost non existent. I thought the restaurant stayed open until 12 as it said on the website, however the staff were saying the restaurant was closed at 8pm and turning people away. I would not recommend this restaurant.

Unfortunately one of our party became instantly ill after their fish and chips which was the only thing they ate that was differen to us, all day. Apart from that it was generally ok. Service was slow considering how quiet the restaurant was. Food ok but what we expected. The room was very hot when we arrived but cooled down after asking for hearing to be turned down.

Maybe we caught it at a bad day as it was insanely busy. But maybe not ideal if you're looking for a relaxed experience. Family and kids... Probably fine.

1st visit here although we have been to other branches. Food and service 1st class. Very varied wine list and well priced. We ate late lunch (or early dinner) at 4.30 in the afternoon so we have no idea how busy it gets at main lunchtime or in the evening. Definitely recommend a visit...

Had a great afternoon tea here for my mum’s b’day on a very lovely late summer’s day. When we arrived they were very busy and I was a bit concerned but we got seated on an upstairs balcony overlooking the river and the afternoon tea was perfect didn’t take long to arrive etc. All in all a great option

Neither the food nor the service was as good as past visits. It was OK but not reason to return.
