Buttermilk Fine Waffles is a cozy little waffle shop on 17th Avenue. It's Sunday morning. We are separating eggs, and whipping up egg whites. We are squeezing oranges and frying bacon. The smell of strong coffee winds it's way through the house. We gather around the kitchen table in our pyjamas and wool socks. We place carafes of melted butter and hot maple syrup at the centre of the table. The first waffles come off the iron. Breakfast is ready. Buttermilk Fine Waffles is our way of sharing the warmth of this Sunday ritual with our community, while providing Calgarians with a vibrant meeting place that feels like home. Buttermilk is a semi self serve restaurant (think ikea) with the best waffles in the city and incredibly friendly staff. We have and continue to return here, and highly recommend it to everyone.

You'd think waffles would be fairly generic but these had a certain something that made them melt in your mouth. The single breakfast with fruit and sausage is a great value, and the mango mimosas are an exotic treat. Good delicious fun.

Such delicious waffles! I was told by staff that I could order two separate waffles for the double Buttermilk breakfast so I ordered an Earl Grey and a Banana Nutella one. The waffles are so buttery and crisp, and the toppings were fresh and flavorful. The food did not feel overwhelmingly sweet. Just delicious. Great coffee too. Sausage was included in our meal which tasted good, but the hero was definitely the delicious specialty waffles. I'd definitely recommend this place.

Once again Buttermilk Waffels outdid themselves! The staff are always very friendly and the food is beyond my expectation every time! My boyfriend daughters loved the seasonal Halloween waffel with the gummie worms and are asking to go back again!!

Walked in with my wife and none of the staff even looked up, or smiled. One of the staff stood in the same spot for 30 minutes just sulking as she eyes customers and watched her coworker prepare meals . Probably the most uncomfortable and awkward start’s to a sit down restaurant I’ve ever had. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! Why does everyone who is working there seem miserable?

The chicken and waffles are my favorite item. I keep coming back just for this. The chicken is coated with this sweet and savoury skin that is super crispy. The waffles are light, fluffy and buttery. It is a must try. I also love the service here. It's casual but super friendly. Highly recommend this restaurant.
