St. Anselm - DC
The music was pretty loud but we were still able to carry a conversation. But food was delicious.
Wonderful as usual! Loved the spiced cider and had the special- a crab omelet-that was OUTSTANDING.
One of the best meals I’ve had in DC so far. The food and costumer service were outstanding!
Great food, excellent service! My server, Chris, never let my drink expire and provided top shelf service. Will return for sure!
We had a fabulous meal at St. Anselm. The ribeye was one of the best I have ever had. The restaurant has a great vibe, and the service is spectacular.
Great service! Very enjoyable evening. Food is great with something for all.
The food was amazing!!!! Get the biscuits. Great place.
I don't usually order a starter and dessert for brunch, but I'm glad I did. The cucumber salad was delicious and unexpected. My crab omelette was perfect. And the pot au creme was equally on par. A real world-class meal, no wonder it was so crowded.
We had one of the best meals in years, topped with excellent service.
When I asked about the strip, our waiter could not tell me if it was prime or choice. He termed it as ungraded but meeting our standards. The steak was mediocre at best, but really annoying was the knife! A cheap French made Opinel with a wooden handle! It was dull and had been cleaned multiple times in the dishwasher leaving a dried out and cracked handle! This is basic stuff. They should know better!
We opted for a number of small plates and that was definitely the way to go. Everything was good but the deviled eggs and the biscuits were stand outs
It was really nice and the food was good. Service was great !
This is an amazing restaurant. Really worth the trip!
The food at St. Anselm is always delicious - whenever we have out of town guests we always take them to St. Anselm for a delicious casual meal. The restaurant is a little loud but the ambiance is always fun.
The drinks and the food were quite good. Had the blue crab deviled eggs, bobo roasted chicken, and cauliflower. All were excellent and the biscuits were insanely good; so buttery and rich. We did need to send back our crab legs as they tasted like fuel. They broil them and I'm guessing the flavor of the gas (or whatever) got into the legs. In fact, you couldn't easily get the smell off of your hands. The second order was better, but there was still a hint of that flavor on the crab legs. Kind of weird. I find that steam is better for seafood generally so maybe they need to change the way the cook them. Aside from that, we really loved it and would definitely go back.
I have been 3 times for brunch but this was my first dinner there. Everything was so great!
I rarely respond to surveys but St. Anselm was such a pleasant surprise. The food was outstanding- very flavorful and delicious!
Outstanding. A great take on a modern steakhouse. No details overlooked.
Tried their brunch and had their biscuits exceptionally good and comes with pimiento cheese and jam as an option. I ordered the burger, that was pretty good. Also ordered the cognac punch bowl, wasn’t really strong but did the job and it was refreshing enough.
An overall great experience. My new favorite spot for Brunch!
Ambiance was great. Cool interior. Good drinks. Food was good but very limited menu
A great night out! Loved cocktails, food, vibe and service. Go!
Service was great. Food was great. Atmosphere is great. Highly recommend this place.
I was looking forward to going to St Anselm for the past year. Great atmosphere, but food was average for the price. My meal was bland and overcooked. When I informed the server, he called the manager, and then backed off from providing service. The manager was ok but it felt they gave up on trying to please and just wanted us to leave. I'd go back for drinks but not food.
Second time to St Anselm’s. The food was well executed this time as last. The servers are all friendly and informative and it’s got that great balance of DC’s better restaurants off mixing casual feel with great food and service.
Food was phenomenal!
Service was impeccable!
Ambiance was all American!
Definite must have!
The food from start to finish was delicious. A bit pricey but happy to have experienced it!
Great food and fantastic service!
Took my boyfriend out for his birthday. The food was delicious, our servers were attentive without being overbearing. I would go back for sure. I recommend the ice cream cake, chocolaty and delicious!
Great-amazing food. Most full I’ve been from a restaurant in a long time.
Wonderful anniversary dinner!
First time there, and everything was amazing. Definitely get the biscuits to start. We’ll be back.
The culinary experience is perfect for any occasion; everyday, date, special occasion or gathering of friends or family. The warm and attentive service, comfortable and cozy ambience, and most importantly, the food and cocktails are consistently excellent. It is why we are regulars and ensure that friends or family from out of town are treated here during their visit to DC.
This is a fantastic restaurant, but the sound level is deafening, even for those seated in the "quiet" tables (we debated about whether we would be allowed to close the curtains). St. Anselm: please consider installing some acoustic tiles and perhaps some sound absorption on the bottom of the tables. Buzzy is great; not being able to hear one's dinner partner is not.
Great atmosphere and biscuits are best in town, but several other dishes were over seasoned.
Delicious, imaginative food for a reasonable price. Staff was friendly and attentive. Would recommend to any foodie.
Great experience. That staff are super attentive and dedicated to making sure your experience goes well. Very happy with our orders!
Great restaurant! The sommelier provided great recs for wine and there were hearty servings for everything. Would definitely recommend!
Great spot! Neighborhood vibe with fine dining.
